Power to the People — Closing the Album

Why the final track on the 2026 collection had to be a statement, not just a song — and how the arrangement was built to feel like a crowd coming together.

The last track on an album is a promise. It's what you leave the listener with when everything else has been said. I knew from the start that the 2026 collection had to end with something that felt collective — not one person in a room, but a crowd.

The arrangement was built in reverse. I started with the final breakdown — that moment where everything strips back to a single kick and a vocal chant — and worked backward to figure out how to earn it. Every section of the track is building toward that release.

The chant itself is layered from a single voice recorded 47 times. No pitch correction, no timing correction. The slight imperfections in each layer are what make it sound human. Stack 47 imperfect voices and you get something that sounds like a crowd.

When the full arrangement crashes back in after that breakdown, I wanted it to feel like a decision — like the crowd chose to keep going. That's what underground music is. A choice to stay in the room, to keep dancing, to believe that this moment matters.
